The Year 5 students have created an exciting awareness campaign titled "Tuts the Pharaohs," aiming to promote the importance of oral health in line with the 2025 World Oral Health Day theme: "A Happy Mouth is a Happy Body." This initiative is designed to teach children how to properly care for their teeth, what foods are good for their oral health, and which foods to avoid, all while celebrating the connection between oral health and overall well-being.
The campaign is multilingual, with materials and messages being delivered in French, Arabic, and English during dental convoy's and school visits, to ensure it reaches a wide and diverse audience. Through this, the students aim to:
- Teach proper dental care: Step-by-step instructions on how to brush and floss teeth properly, with easy-to-understand visuals and tips.
- Promote healthy eating habits: The campaign emphasizes foods that help maintain healthy teeth, like fruits, vegetables, and dairy, while also warning against sugary snacks and acidic drinks that can damage teeth.
- Engage in fun activities: To keep children interested, the students have created engaging content like songs, posters, and interactive games in multiple languages to make the message clear and memorable.
By linking the importance of oral health to the broader theme of physical health, the Year 5 students hope to inspire their peers and families to take better care of their mouths, understanding that a happy mouth leads to a happy body. This project not only educates children about dental hygiene but also encourages them to spread the message and share the campaign with others in their communities. Through this initiative, the students are actively contributing to global health awareness for World Oral Health Day 2025.
