Mob Smiles - Empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians with new oral health resources

The Australian Dental Association is a member of the FDI. To mark World Oral Health Day 2023 they provided culturally appropriate resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, leading by example and taking an innovative approach to provide healthcare services to those most in need.

New oral health resources

This World Oral Health, the Australian Dental Association aligned its mission with FDI’s campaign theme, Be Proud of Your Mouth by publishing newly created culturally appropriate resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. These resources are part of a suite called Mob Smiles that provides oral health advice for people to take care of and be proud of their mouths.

Promotion of inclusive resources

The resources have been created by indigenous dental practitioners and health professionals with the support of the Australian Dental Association. The materials were officially released on World Oral Health Day and accompanied by a wide range of  promotional efforts, including a media release, social media promotion, and communications to the ADA membership.
