NOPH Puducherry -Awareness on Oral health to overall health and Harmful effects of Tobacco on the human body camp conducted to NCD patients in PHC Nattapakkam

On 06.02.2026, an oral health awareness session was conducted at PHC Nettapakkam under the NCD Clinic. Patients were educated about the importance of oral health and its connection to overall general health. Awareness was created regarding the harmful effects of tobacco on the human body, including its role in causing oral cancer and other systemic diseases. The role of Tobacco Cessation Centre (TCC) services was explained, and the availability of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) gums was emphasized to support patients willing to quit tobacco. Proper tooth brushing techniques were demonstrated using dental models and posters. A total of 32 beneficiaries attended and benefited from this session.
