NOHP Puducherry - Oral screening conducted at AAM - SHC - Sellipet for NCD patients.

A screening camp was conducted for *NCD* (Non-Communicable Disease) patients at the *AAM - SHC - Sellipet* on *24-02-2026* with the aim of promoting oral health and early detection of dental problems. Patients attending the clinic were examined for common oral conditions such as dental caries, gum disease, oral infections, and tobacco-related lesions. Those requiring further care were advised to seek treatment at the dental facility.
An anti-tobacco awareness program was also organized for both the general public and *NCD* patients, highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco use on oral and overall health, especially in individuals with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Informative guidance on quitting tobacco was provided.
In addition, proper tooth-brushing techniques were demonstrated using dental models to educate participants on maintaining good oral hygiene. The camp successfully created awareness and encouraged preventive care practices. Nearly *94* individuals benefited from this program.
