NOHP Puducherry -Oral screening camp conducted at Thanthai Periyar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ariyankuppam

"An oral screening camp was successfully conducted at _Thanthai Periyar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ariankuppam_ , on 02.02.2026 with the objective of improving oral health awareness among school children. The program primarily targeted students of 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th standards, as this age group is crucial for developing lifelong healthy oral habits.

     During the camp, oral screening was carried out to assess the dental health status of the students. Comprehensive oral hygiene instructions were given, focusing on the importance of maintaining clean teeth and gums to prevent common dental problems such as dental caries and gum disease. Proper brushing techniques were demonstrated in a simple and understandable manner, highlighting the correct method, frequency, and duration of brushing.

       In addition, important aspects of oral health, including the role of balanced diet, avoidance of harmful habits, and the need for regular dental check-ups, were explained to the students. Posters based on the theme *“Happy Mouth Is a Happy Life”* were displayed in the school premises. The students actively observed the posters and gained knowledge about the significance of good oral hygiene and its impact on overall health. The camp was informative, interactive, and beneficial in motivating students to practice good oral health habits in their daily lives.Nearly 234 benefitted."
