NOHP Puducherry -Oral screening and treatment camp and Dental orientation session for PIMS nusing students at AAM Alankuppam

An oral screening and treatment camp was conducted at *AAM - Alankuppam* on 23-02-2026 to promote oral health awareness and provide basic dental care to the community. Individuals of all age groups attended the camp and underwent examination for common dental problems such as tooth decay, gum diseases, stains, and oral lesions. Necessary treatments and referrals were provided to those requiring further care. Oral hygiene instructions were explained in simple terms to encourage healthy daily practices.
As part of the program, a _brushing technique_ demonstration was carried out using dental models, highlighting correct methods to effectively remove plaque and prevent dental diseases. An _anti-tobacco awareness_ session was also conducted, emphasizing the harmful effects of tobacco on oral and general health and encouraging cessation.
In addition, a dental orientation session was organized for third-year nursing students of *PIMS* college focusing on the importance of oral health in patient care. Nearly *46* beneficiaries attended and benefited from this comprehensive program.
