NOHP Puducherry - Oral screening and treatment camp at AAM SCH Poraiyur

An oral screening and treatment camp was conducted for the community at Poraiyur by the Mobile Dental Unit team with the objective of improving access to dental care and promoting oral health awareness among the general population.
Members of the community were screened for common oral health problems such as dental caries, periodontal diseases, tooth loss, and oral mucosal lesions. 
Based on the clinical findings, on-site dental treatments including oral prophylaxis, simple restorations, extractions, and emergency dental care were provided as per feasibility. Patients were also counseled on maintaining proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
Oral health education sessions were conducted to create awareness about correct brushing techniques, dietary habits, and the ill effects of tobacco and areca nut consumption. Patients requiring advanced or specialized care were referred to nearby government dental institutions for further management.
