NOHP Puducherry - Mega Health Camp at Ponniyamman Koil Mandapam, Lawspet by UPHC Avvai Nagar

"An Oral Screening and Awareness services were conducted as part of the *Mega Special Health Camp* held at *Ponniamman Koil, Lawspet* by *UPHC Avvai nagar* on 9-2-2026. The camp provided comprehensive health services including dental check-up, blood pressure screening, hypertension evaluation, ENT examination, eye check-up, and general physician consultation. Specialists from various departments actively participated to ensure complete healthcare support for the public.

   The camp was inaugurated by *Dr. Shamimmunisha,(Deputy Director of Public Health.)* and Dr. Meenu ( MO- Incharge of Avvai Nagar ).Oral cancer screening was carried out for the general public to promote early detection and prevention. Anti-tobacco awareness and dental health orientation sessions were conducted for the general public as well as nursing students of *Mother Theresa Nursing College*  to educate them about the harmful effects of tobacco and the importance of maintaining oral hygiene. 

Special IEC events like *Villu Paatu* were organized, and nursing students participated, focusing on diabetes awareness and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

 *Pamphlets* were distributed and informative posters and banners were displayed to create awareness. Nearly *158* beneficiaries received healthcare services through this Mega  Special Health Camp, making it a successful public health initiative."
