An *Oral Screening* and *Oral Awareness* Camp was successfully organized at *GPS Kamaraj Nagar* , under *PHC Gorimedu* , in collaboration with the *Pondicherry AIDS Control Society (PACS)* and *National AIDS Control Organization (NACO).* The event formed part of an *Integrated Health Camp* held on February 7, 2026.
The camp focused on promoting oral health and preventing tobacco-related diseases. An anti-tobacco awareness program was conducted to educate participants about the serious health risks of tobacco use, particularly its strong link to oral cancer. An oral cancer screening was provided to the general public, enabling early detection of potential issues.
Trained health workers demonstrated the correct brushing technique using models, teaching proper oral hygiene practices. Informative fact sheets and banners were prominently displayed to reinforce key messages. The central theme — “ *Happy Life, Happy Mouth is a Happy Life”* — was explained, highlighting how good oral health contributes to overall well-being and quality of life. *Pamphlets* distributed.
The camp successfully raised awareness among the community, with nearly *102* directly benefiting from the screening and guidance provided. Such initiatives play a vital role in building healthier habits and reducing the burden of preventable oral diseases.
