On 24.2.26, Indrani College of Nursing conducted an Oral Awareness and Screening Camp at Govt Primary School Korkadu as part of their NSS special camp.
1.Dental surgeon from CHC Karikalampakkam delivered a talk to primary school students on the importance of oral health and hygiene.
2.The Dental surgeon also conducted oral screenings for all students, identifying common oral diseases and referring cases to Dental OPD CHC Karikalampakkam for treatment.
3.Teachers were trained on basic tooth anatomy, dental caries, common oral diseases, and prevention methods. 4.Additionally, nursing students received an awareness talk on the tobacco menace and its harmful effects.
5.The event concluded with an anti-tobacco pledge.
The camp aimed to promote oral health awareness and early detection of oral diseases among school students, while also educating teachers and nursing students on preventive measures and the risks of tobacco use.
Felicitation was done by the Deputy Director, Primary School Education, Pondicherry, The Principal GPS, Korkadu and Management of Indrani College of nursing, Pondicherry.
A total of 54 Primary school students, 6 teachers, 20 nursing students benefited from this initiative.
