Day 2
On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, an awareness program was conducted on 16th March 2026 by Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute Kelambakkam at Poonjeri. The event focused on educating the community about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene through interactive and practical demonstrations.
A major highlight of the program was the demonstration of proper flossing technique using a dental model, helping participants understand how to effectively clean interdental areas. Additionally, a creative comparison using bread mould and a mouth model was used to visually explain how poor oral hygiene can lead to microbial growth, making the concept easy to understand and impactful.
The program also included pamphlet explanation and distribution, where participants were educated about daily oral care practices, common dental problems, and preventive measures. A health talk was delivered to raise awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and its link to overall health.

Overall, the program successfully combined visual learning, hands-on demonstrations, and community interaction, making the awareness initiative engaging, informative, and beneficial for the participants.
