The healthy smile that we cares!

Greetings.As a part of World oral health day Campaign, the students of Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute, Kelambakkam -603103, Chennai , India , from the department of Public Health Dentistry have conducted a camp at Rosedale apartments for the residents community(14/3/26). The program included dentalscreenings,allowing participants to understand their oral health status and identify further treatment needs . 
In connection with *WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY 2026 *camp also emphasised the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene practices. An informative video sourced from the official oral health platform was screened to reinforce these messages in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner.
Special attention was given to children, who were actively engaged through interactive and fun activities. This helped create a positive attitude toward dental care at an early age and reduced fear associated with dental visits.
Additional components of the camp included personalized oral hygiene instructions, demonstrations of proper brushing techniques, and dietary counseling to prevent dental diseases. The initiative not only benefited the residents but also strengthened community-dentist relationships.
From this experience, we gained valuable insights into the importance of community dentistry, effective patient communication, and the role of preventive care in improving overall health. It highlights how awareness, early detection, and education can significantly reduce the burden of oral diseases while fostering a healthier and more informed community.
