healthy oral happy life

Dental check-ups

In response to the call of FDI World Dental Federation and the Chinese Stomatological Association, the Stomatological Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Linping Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine launched a series of oral health activities centered around the annual theme "Healthy Mouth, Happy Life" in March 2026. The activities focused on the entire life cycle population, including children, young and middle-aged adults, and the elderly, aiming to effectively enhance public oral health literacy through targeted measures and age‑specific education.

During the preparation phase, the publicity team of the Stomatological Diagnosis and Treatment Center held a special meeting to clarify the activity formats and division of labor. It was decided to adopt three major sections — "fun interactive activities for children, multi‑form education in the outpatient clinic, and community outreach for the elderly" — to meet the needs of different population groups. All medical staff worked collaboratively to ensure the smooth implementation of the activities. The content and outcomes are summarized as follows:

(I) Focus on the Elderly: Community Outreach Services

On March 16, the medical team of the Stomatological Diagnosis and Treatment Center visited the Greentown Lanting Senior Living Community to provide oral examinations and health consultations for the elderly. Regarding common oral problems such as tooth loss, periodontal diseases, and denture maintenance, the doctors gave professional guidance to help the elderly establish scientific oral care concepts. At the event site, the Oral Health Brochure for the Elderly was distributed, and correct tooth brushing methods were demonstrated.

(II) Coverage of Young and Middle‑aged Groups: Multi‑form Outpatient Education

During the activity period, the Stomatological Diagnosis and Treatment Center conducted various forms of oral health education in the waiting hall for visiting patients. Promotional videos were played on electronic screens, and live PPT presentations were given, covering topics such as oral health care at different ages, oral care during pregnancy, prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases, and denture maintenance. At the same time, carefully designed oral health newspapers were distributed in the waiting area, integrating health knowledge into daily medical services.

(III) Focus on Children: Learning Through Fun

On World Oral Health Day, the Pediatric Dentistry Department held a "Childlike Smile" themed activity. Children who cooperated during treatment or had no dental caries were awarded "Tooth Protection Little Warrior" stickers. They also had their smiling photos taken in front of a dedicated backdrop, which were printed on site as a memento — transforming the oral examination into a memorable and ceremonial gift. For children with dental caries, the doctors gave them the Caries Prevention Handbook and provided hands‑on guidance on proper tooth brushing methods, cultivating children's awareness of oral health in a fun and engaging way.

Through these activities, a total of more than 800 people were served, and over 400 copies of various educational materials were distributed. By implementing age‑specific strategies and targeted education, the activities effectively enhanced oral health awareness across the entire life cycle population and created a favorable atmosphere for oral health care.

Moving forward, the Center will continue to follow the guidance of "Healthy Mouth, Happy Life" and carry out regular oral health education efforts to safeguard the oral health of residents in the jurisdiction.v
