Healthy Mouth, Happy Life — Kaiyang County Ethnic School “March 20 World Oral Health Day” Science Popularization Carnival Successfully Held

On March 20, World Oral Health Day, Guiyang Stomatological Hospital and the Guiyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Guiyang Health Supervision Institute), in collaboration with Kaiyang County Ethnic School, jointly organized a unique science popularization carnival themed “Healthy Mouth, Happy Life.” The event was aimed at second- and third-grade students and used an engaging, educational, and entertaining approach to promote oral health knowledge and enhance children’s awareness of oral care. The atmosphere was lively, and the children gained knowledge and health awareness amid laughter and joy. At 12:00 noon, more than 200 students entered the venue in an orderly manner under the guidance of their teachers, and the event officially began with warm applause. The principal of Kaiyang County Ethnic School delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the importance of oral health for students’ growth and encouraging children to develop good dental care habits from an early age. Subsequently, Comrade Feng Hongchao, Party Secretary of Guiyang Stomatological Hospital, stated that the hospital would continue to focus on children’s oral health, promote cooperation between medical institutions and schools, and work together to safeguard children’s bright smiles. During the event, medical staff from Guiyang Stomatological Hospital transformed into performers and presented a humorous and engaging skit titled “Tooth on the Run,” demonstrating the correct first-aid management of dental trauma. The children watched with great interest, frequently bursting into laughter, while also firmly remembering key knowledge such as “pick up the tooth after injury, rinse it, place it back in the mouth or store it in milk.” The most popular part of the event was the “Science Education Fair” Six interactive game stations were set up on-site, including: “Dental Knowledge Quiz Master,” “Tooth Care Mystery Box Challenge,” “I Am a Little Dentist,” “Plaque Detective,” “Food Ring Toss,” and the “Dreams Come True” photo wall. Students actively participated with stamp cards in hand, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The event concluded successfully, with children holding gifts and oral care kits, their faces filled with satisfied smiles. Many students expressed that they had learned a lot about dental health and promised to brush their teeth carefully and protect their teeth in the future. This “March 20 World Oral Health Day” science popularization carnival not only enabled children to acquire oral health knowledge in a relaxed and enjoyable setting but also further promoted the implementation of collaborative education between medical institutions and schools.
