A Happy Mouth is... A Happy Life!

Campaign

In commemoration of World Oral Health Day 2026, RDSA Rwanda implemented a three-day, multi-setting outreach campaign under the theme "A Happy Mouth is... A Happy Life." The campaign strategically targeted diverse populations across Rwanda to promote integrated preventive oral care, health literacy, and early intervention.

  • Day 1 – HVP Gatagara Secondary School (Huye): The campaign began at an inclusive school for students with disabilities, where learners received oral health education and clinical screenings. This activity emphasized equitable access to oral care for all abilities.
  • Day 2 – GS Kimironko 1 (Primary School): Hundreds of young learners were provided with oral health education, essential hygiene kits, and clinical screenings. The focus was on embedding preventive oral care into school-based WASH programs and primary healthcare.
  • Day 3 – Kimironko Market (Community Setting): The campaign concluded at a public market, engaging the wider community. This final day highlighted collective action, with community members supporting one another to prioritize oral health as a shared journey.

Across all three days, RDSA Rwanda reinforced its commitment to scaling school-based and community-driven oral health awareness, ensuring sustainable impact from classrooms to marketplaces.

PS: On the actual day of WOHD; 20th March, we could not proceed with visiting Kimironko Market as it was Planned since the day coincided with Eid Fitr; we had to postpone the activity the following day.
