Dental check-ups

As part of the World Oral Health Day 2026 campaign, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai, has organized a comprehensive Oral Health Screening and Education Camp on 23 March 2026 at Annabhau Sathe Nagar, Mankhurd. This initiative continues to bring the global theme—“A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Life”—to the heart of Mumbai’s urban settlements.

Target Population

A diverse group of Underserved urban community including children, the general adult population, and high-risk individuals with tobacco habits.

The camp is organized with the objective of promoting oral health awareness and providing basic oral health screening services to residents of underserved urban slum communities. The program has been planned to benefit children, adults, and tobacco users from the local community.

During the camp, participants will been screened for common oral health conditions, including dental caries, periodontal diseases, and oral mucosal lesions. Particular emphasis will been given to tobacco users, who will be examined for early signs of oral precancerous conditions and counseled regarding the harmful effects of tobacco consumption.
