GDCH, Mumbai: October Outreach: Advancing Oral Healthcare, Reaching Every Smile
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai, conducted an extensive series of oral health screening, education, and outreach activities throughout October 2025 aligned with the global theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life”
This month-long campaign focused on preventive oral healthcare, early detection, and community awareness, reaching diverse and underserved populations across Mumbai.
Objectives
- Deliver oral healthcare services to underserved and hard-to-reach populations
- Encourage healthy oral hygiene practices and reduce disease burden
- Identify dental caries, periodontal diseases, and oral lesions at an early stage
- Increase awareness regarding oral hygiene, diet, and regular dental visits
- Foster long-term adoption of healthy oral habits among children and adults
- Strengthen awareness and self-care practices through targeted education
A total of 11 outreach camps were conducted, reaching 1404 beneficiaries, including children, women, healthcare workers, and underserved populations.

Target Population
