As part of the continuing outreach initiatives conducted in connection with World Oral Health Day 2026, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai, has organized an Oral Health Screening and Education Camp on 24 March 2026 at Vision Rescue Community Centre, Maharashtra Nagar, Mankhurd, Mumbai.
- Target Population: Underserved urban community including children, adults, and tobacco users
The camp will aim to enhance awareness regarding oral hygiene and preventive dental care while providing basic oral health screening services to members of the underserved urban community. Children and adult residents from the locality will be encouraged to participate in the program.
During the camp, participants will undergo screening for common oral health conditions, including dental caries, periodontal diseases, and oral mucosal lesions. Particular attention will be given to individuals using tobacco, who will be screened for early signs of oral precancerous lesions and provided counseling on tobacco cessation and its impact on oral health.
