GDCH, MUMBAI: ADVANCING COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH IN URBAN SLUM POPULATIONS- ORAL HEALTH AWARENESS & EDUCATION PROGRAM
Rationale
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai, conducted an Oral Health Awareness and Education Program on 09 April 2026 at Shivajinagar, Mankhurd, targeting residents of urban slum communities.
This initiative was designed to address the oral health needs of vulnerable and high-risk populations, including Anganwadi children, caregivers, and individuals with tobacco use habits. The program emphasized preventive care, early awareness, and community empowerment.

This pledge served as a powerful tool for reinforcing behavioral change and personal responsibility towards oral health.
