A lesson plan created to get tamariki (children) thinking about why we have teeth and why they are important. Something to be proud of! Educating tamariki on the function and importance of their teeth will help them understand the ‘WHY” they should care – inspiring great oral health habits! The lesson plan is accompanied by an Aotearoa (New Zealand) specific colouring in competition, with an activity sheet to solidify the messaging. The illustration uses our native pekapeka (bat) as a toothed animal mascot in honour of waiora (environmental protection).
