As part of its World Oral Health Day 2023 activities, the Aga Khan University Dental Hygiene Program organized an event at Rupani Foundation-Ali Jiwani for children aged 2 months to 4 years, parents/guardians, and teachers. The event included onsite oral hygiene instructions and education, nutritional counselling, a colouring activity, and oral screening. 42 children, guardians/parents, and around 6 teachers participated in the activity. The onsite oral hygiene instructions and education were aimed at educating the children and their caregivers on proper oral hygiene practices, such as brushing and flossing. Nutritional counselling was also provided to promote healthy eating habits for better oral health. The colouring activity provided an interactive way for the children to learn about oral health. Finally, oral screening was conducted to identify potential oral health issues and provide appropriate recommendations for further treatment, if necessary. Overall, the event aimed to promote oral health awareness and provide practical education and resources to children and their caregivers.
