World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated annually and globally by Oral health professionals and is the culmination of a year-long campaign dedicated to raising global awareness on the prevention and control of oral disease.
WOHD spreads messages of education on how to prevent and control oral disease and the good oral hygiene practices which should be followed by adults and children, enabling them to avoid any unnecessary pain or suffering and ultimately enjoy a better quality of life into old age.
WOHD also champions the prevention and early detection of oral health issues and aims to raise the profile of oral health on a global scale and educate people regarding the link between oral health and systemic health.
SADA fully endorses this Annual Programme and runs programmes of education at an outreach level primarily to school children believing that oral health is an important and vital aspect of their education. SADA through member practitioners makes various posters available for display in practice areas encouraging conversations around oral health.
